About Koke
Koke, Yirgacheffe is a standout origin in Ethiopia’s famed Gedeo Zone, where small-scale, multi-generational farmers cultivate heirloom coffee varieties under the shade of native trees in rich, red-brown soil. At elevations surrounding the Koke washing station, ripe cherries are carefully handpicked every 8–10 days, ensuring only the best make it to processing.
Koke’s natural processing method is all about precision—cherries are hand-sorted, then dried slowly on raised beds for around 21 days, with tarps used to preserve clarity and complexity in the cup. The station has earned a strong reputation for separating higher-elevation lots, producing coffees that consistently deliver the clean, fruit-forward character Yirgacheffe is known for. With a long-term partnership in place and continued investment in quality, Koke is a benchmark for washed and natural coffees from southern Ethiopia.
